Well the results was yesterday but because I had no time to get to the computer, I couldn't post on the actual day... When I was walking to school in my school uniform, in which I will wearing for perhaps the last time(the next time will be on 18th Dec posting day), I was already imagining myself with such poor results. I was preparing myself to go to amk sec, my bro's school. I touched down on Ai Tong at late 11am and saw a huge crowd of students at the canteen, along with their chao kiasu parents, chit chatting about u-know-what. I met up with Jennis. At 12pm we saw students going up the hall so we followed. There was rows of chairs(unfortunately not for us but for parents and teachers) and each class had to sit in a row in front of the stage. Then the new vice principal started announcing stuff. "Last year ai tong has 97% of students passing the psle but this year," she declares, "it's 99.7%!" Loud cheer, thuderous applause et cetera. The highest psle score is 287, which is a geek gal from nanyang primary. Next the top students who got 270 and above went on stage. All were from my class 6A except for a girl who was from 6B. Hui Wen, Jennis and I could not believe that Zhi Xin was one of them!! It's really unpredictable. The top in the school is Kellynn from my class who got 282. Duh. That is so damn obvious she will cos she was 1st in the entitre school for PRILIM. I was really really starting to lose hope. Next we were brought to our classrooms. Past year 6A pupils were standing outside the classroom. Ms Tan and lin lao shi were in the classroom too. After giving us a NUS school of mathematics and science postcard etc etc she gave us our psle results slip. For all subjects, 30 plus of us got A* execpt for English in which 25 got A*. I imagined my results slip: B, B, C, B, Pass. I watched as Ms Tan started giving out the results. She announced the number of A* for each sudent and whether he or she got distinction or not for higher chinese. Wow, many students got 3 A*!! Some got 1 or 2... I imagined myself as one of them and getting severely beaten up by my parents. When it was my turn, Ms Tan was frowning and saying, "Aiyah Zhi Jie how come your Maths get B but the rest get A* and distinction?" I could only force a smile. I looked at the bottom right corner of the piece of paper I was gripping on. This was what I saw: 254. I felt quite disappointed as these marks could not help me get into Nanyang... Sad... Then I realised that was really beyond my expectation so I cheered up a little. Lin lao shi was telling me to buck up for my Math. ARGGGH if not for my math I would have scored at least 26o... Sianz... Both Hui Wen and Jennis beat me!!!! ARG!!! Hui Wen got 256 and Jennis got 264. Wa lao smart man!!! P.S Sorry guys for announcing your score on National Television Later on we were brought down to go home. I shook hands with lin lao shi and she gave me loads of encouragement. I greatly appreciate that. THANKS!!! My parents were sort of disappointed. They hoped for me to get 260 above. Wth... Never mind all parents are kiasu I mean which parent does not want their kids to score? However on that day they forced to do sec 1 math. It sucked... And my dad kept nagging at me at how lazy I was and how HARDWORKING he was at studying math when he was younger. Well I don't need math to survive right...?? Dunno... EVERYONE ON 6A PLEASE RMB ME!!!
