This has been days since the end of my Taiwan trip... Which was on 8 Dec Yup! The trip was REAL cool. In the China Airlines plane I watched Meet Dave and played a few games. My fav was Insanaquarium!! YAY... But the "personal tv" in front of me was faulty and luckily dad agreed to switch places with meee... Our tour guide was "Ah Peng" and I found out his real name was "Li Lai Fa" much later. On the 1st day I took a bullet train from Taoyuan!! OMG... My 1st time...! And Taiwan's bullet trains seats are not like MRTs where you can stand or sit, 1st come 1st serve. You have to BOOK the tickets and nobody stands. And theres a toilet!!! But I didn't use it... Me and my bro sat together, beside the window. I couldn't help irritating him and he started complaining... The trip was rather long...... Then the whole tour group got to write their wishes on a plastic kong ming deng and set it into the air!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok... Brief introduction of Taiwan trip... The weather is rather cold except for a few days... Especially in Taipei and in the mountain areas... If u wanna keep REALLY warm and be kiasu, wear Long Johns and you will be as good as NEW!! My fav places of interest were the arboginal village, with the theme parks and historical places and stuff... And Chulu Ranch, which was like a farm, with large green meadows!! And Jiu Fen with the nice shops was very very scenic- its on a hill thingy(i guess) and there are shophouses along the streets which make me feel like I am walking in chinatown, just that it is much cooler... AND i found out that in 7 eleven stores of Taiwan you get to buy manga, manga magazines, and freshly brewed coffee! How cool is THAT!! Mum bought me a shoujo manga magazine in Kenting... The most memorable part was that I put fireworks into the sky myself for the 1st time! WOW... About the hotels... All 8 days I stayed in different hotels but all of them were "branches" of the Howard Hotel(probably the most famous hotel in Taiwan... 5 star hotel u know!!) except for 2 of em'. My favourite was the Kenting Howard Hotel. Its the best!! It can be linked to a nearby beach and there's even an arcade downstairs!! Plus a 7 eleven!! My cousins, bro and I competed in a match of "table hockey"(made up name??) in the arcade...! It was FUUNNNN... My fav food places in Taiwan were 三角船板, which has a unique dream-like design of a restaurant; a restaurant beside the wenwu temple at Sun Moon Lake and a restaurant which gives us all fish- foodstuff... I forgot 2 of their names though... Hehe... And oyes, we were brought to 2 shopping malls. Taipei 101 and Dream Mall. I prefer Dream Mall as most of the things sold were more affordable. PLUS there is a mini theme park at the top storey which shows the sky! My cousins and I sat on the Sanrio Ferris Wheel , which was rather sky-high!! There were many designs on each of the ferris wheel's carriages, like Bat Batz Maru, Hello Kitty, Cinnamon Roll etc... We sat in the carriage with a cute froggy design! There was even a Hello Kitty pillow in the carriage! Whopee...! It was a comfortable ride and there was even music playing in the carriage! I didn't like Taipei 101 as all they sold were all branded goods in which we could get in Singapore already... I did not get to go to the top storey either cos' you will have to pay money to do so and you can already get higher then 101 stories on a plane... Btw Ying Xuan(my cousin) found out HBO was going to show a NORBIT movie and we got all excited over it, chatting about Norbit as a super fat woman during the long dreary bus rides, disturbing our sleepy fellow Singaporeans along the way. Diaos.. Then the official "Norbit Day" came when the movie's nightly time slot arrived!! We switched our tv sets in our hotel rooms to the HBO. It was then that we realised that Norbit was really the nerdy looking thin guy and the fat woman was actually named "Resspusha"!! It was a great misunderstanding, but Ying Xuan and I had a good laugh over it. Yet again we created a din in the tour bus...... Lastly I would really like to commend the tour guide and tour leader plus bus driver for doing their best for us... ASA rocks... And because of tour guide Ah Peng I found of an alternative, more indirect way of saying "ghost". Which is ---- 阿飘 ......................... - v - PPSSST--- my brother threw up 3 times in taiwan due to motion sickness... Ehehheh... My Dad has not uploaded the photos of the Taiwan trip but when he does so I will upload on this blog! BYYEEEEEEEEEEE~~~~
